Located in Shreveport, LA, the state-of-the-art specialty hospital is owned and operated by twenty-one (21) orthopedic, neuro and spine surgeons, pain management, and physical medicine physicians, and serves as a regional center for the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the spine, neck, and joint.
With four (4) locations in the region, Specialists Hospital Shreveport, and its affiliated clinical practice groups, Orthopedic Specialists of Louisiana, Spine Institute of Louisiana, and Pain Care Consultants, offers convenient access and specialized care, utilizing the latest in innovative clinical and surgical technologies, for the residents of the Shreveport – Bossier City MSA, as well as communities throughout Louisiana, Northeast Texas, and South Arkansas.
The real estate transaction was structured as a Hybrid Sale-Leaseback, allowing the physician-owners to retain ownership in the real estate on a tax-deferred basis, ensuring continued physician alignment and providing a reduced buy-in for new physicians. In addition, the transaction created an opportunity for the physicians to reinvest sale proceeds into several unaffiliated medical office buildings and healthcare facilities on a tax-deferred basis, enabling the physicians to receive continued cashflow distributions through a diversified reinvestment.
